Diane S. Brissey, LCSWC

As founder of Acadia Counseling and Wellness, I have a passion for helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. I believe that everyone has an inner desire to grow through healing, learning, and creating strong connections with others.  My vision is to create a wellness community where everyone is welcome.  I specialize in working with people of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma. Member of the Association of Comprehensive Energy Psychology, Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, Certified Clinical Trauma    Professional and Certified First Responder Counselor.

Ashley Ford, LCPC,

Ashley is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and certified in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). She is a Maryland Board approved supervisor. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. She specializes in working with adults with anxiety, mood disorders, co-occurring mental health and addiction disorders, as well as helping new parents as they navigate mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She uses an eclectic, person-centered approach that utilizes a wide array of therapeutic approaches including mindfulness, compassion, and humor to meet each client where they are and offers a supportive environment for healthy change and growth.

Eric Olson, LCSWC


Eric completed his internship in Clinical Social Work with Acadia Counseling. He is interested in working with first responders as well as those seeking counseling around trauma, anxiety and depression. Eric also has experience working with couples. Eric has trained in EMDR.

Lisa Orenstein, LCSWC,

 Lisa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Special Education from Marlboro College and a Master's of Social Work from Smith College School for Social Work. In Lisa’s clinical practice, trust, authenticity  and collaboration are the foundations for your therapy. With this in mind, she utilizes an eclectic approach depending on each client’s present needs including psychodynamic, attachment-based, parts work, relational, culturally-sensitive and somatic therapies. Her focus is on individual treatment of adults and older teenagers experiencing difficult life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, mood swings, relationship issues, suicidal thoughts, gender/sexuality spectrum transition, and trauma-related symptoms. She is a compassionate, experienced therapist who is honored to work with clients of all backgrounds. Provides telehealth only.

Stephanie Smack, LCSW-C

 

Stephanie incorporates wellness and holistic practices into her counseling services.  For 20 years, she has assisted clients with improving the quality of their lives using various modalities and best practices.  

Julie Smith, MS, CADC, CSC-AD

  

Julie has been working with adults of all ages with substance use disorders for over 10 years. With an open mind, compassion and empathy, Julie can help you take a look at how drugs and alcohol are affecting your life and provide a supportive environment for change. Additionally, she can provide guidance in supporting a loved on who is in active addiction or just beginning the recovery process.  In addition to substance recovery,  Julie also provides work/life balance counseling and trainings. 

 

Jenifer Taschner, LGPC

  Jenifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the Notre Dame of Maryland University, and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. She utilizes a variety of therapies including person-centered approach, CBT, attachment-based therapy, and existential therapy to best fit the needs of her clients. She is experienced working with adolescence, young adults, adults, and couples on issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment to life transitions, interpersonal conflict, and alcohol/substance use issues. Jenifer’s purpose is to help her clients heal, restore, and transform their lives through highly personalized, practical, scientifically supported comprehensive care. Her goal with each client is not simply symptom relief, but a renewed sense of self-confidence and optimism. 

Skye zinneman, LMSW

 
 

Skye is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who earned both her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Master of Social Work from Salisbury University. Skye believes that therapy should be a place where clients feel comfortable being themselves, sharing their experiences, and working toward the changes that matter most to them.

Skye has experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, adjustment difficulties, life transitions, emotional regulation challenges, and self esteem concerns. She especially enjoys working with children and families and believes that each client brings their own strengths, experiences, and goals to therapy.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and client centered, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths based therapy, mindfulness, solution focused techniques, and play based interventions when appropriate. She works to meet clients where they are and tailors therapy to their individual needs.

Skye values building strong, trusting relationships with her clients and believes that meaningful growth begins with feeling safe, supported, and understood. Her goal is to help clients develop practical coping skills, build on their strengths, and feel more confident in navigating everyday challenges.
